Spring brings with it the Persian New Year, Nowruz.

Earlier this month, Atlanta's Persian community celebrated the new year with vibrant music, delicious food and Middle Eastern dance.

On Second Thought producer Fenly Foxen went to the Atlanta Persian Festival at Piedmont Park, and she brought back an audio postcard.

They braved the 93-degree heat. They stood in line, four by four, for hours. In Piedmont Park today, hundreds of young singers showed up for one shot at glory by auditioning for the new season of “American Idol.”

The famous singing competition show aired its final episode on the Fox network on April 7, 2017. But a revival is in the works for an unspecified air date next year on ABC, with at least one celebrity judge already confirmed -- Katy Perry.

Ice Cream. Two little words that can attract a lot of people, especially when it’s hot outside. A festival in Atlanta recently celebrated summer’s quintessential dessert with family events and vendors offering more flavors than we can name. G-P-B intern Candace Spates sends us a postcard from the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival at Piedmont Park.

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival will feature a number of local talents. One of the musicians performing this weekend is Felicita.

She’s a vocalist, guitarist, and a student at Georgia State University. She’ll be performing at the International Stage throughout the weekend in Piedmont Park.

We chat with Felicita about her budding musical career. Then, we hear a live song recorded in the GPB Performance Studio.

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival kicks off today. It will feature more than 50 performances over the next three days.

One of those performers is Antonio Rodriguez. He’s a musician and singer from Veracruz, Mexico. He’ll be performing each day at the International Stage in Piedmont Park.

Rodriguez traveled to our GPB Performance Studio this week to play us a song and tell us a little about his love for music.

It started in 1936 as an event to put Atlanta on the map. Now it’s the oldest outdoor festival in Atlanta and a classic opening to spring.

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival returns to the city for the 81st time this weekend. The three day event will include an extensive artist market, live music on two stages and food from a variety of vendors.

The festivities kick off at noon on Friday at Piedmont Park and will run all the way until Sunday.

Thousands of people packed Piedmont Park this past weekend for a slightly-wet Music Midtown.

The lineup this year catered to a much younger demographic and saw throngs of youthful, smiling faces ready to support their favorite artists.

We went to the festival and talked to some of the more unique attendees.

Over 100,000 concertgoers are expected to visit Piedmont Park for Music Midtown this weekend to hear headliners like The Killers, Beck and Deadmau5.

After years of expensive high-profile superstars like Drake, Elton John, and John Mayer, this year's festival has cut a day of performances and features a roster filled with lesser-known performers.

The Atlanta Police Department has released the report of its initial response to the scene of a man found hanging from a tree in Piedmont Park early Thursday morning.

The report echoes a sentiment expressed by Atlanta Police officers at a press conference Friday: the man, who has yet to be identified, likely killed himself.

Audrey Munson is a familiar face found all across the country in various works of art. She posed for iconic sculptures, including the ‘Triumph of Peace’ found in Piedmont Park. Her career was shrouded in mystery for years until author James Bone identified Munson as the "first American model."

We listen to Bone share a few tales about Munson’s whirlwind career from his book, “The Curse of Beauty: The Scandalous and Tragic Life of Audrey Munson, America’s First Supermodel.”
