As the hometown of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. prepares to observe the civil rights leaders birthday, a private company is stepping in to make sure that those who wish to visit his home, closed during the shutdown, can do so.


Wildfires burning in the Western U.S. are threatening some of America's most treasured national parks – and in some areas, the damage has already been done.

Last week in Montana, a 20-square-mile blaze burned the historic Sperry Chalet, a hotel and dining room built in 1914 and only reachable by trail.

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is recommending that the boundaries of the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah be shrunk. He also is calling on Congress to give Native American tribes more say in how the new monument is managed.
