A focus of President Donald Trump’s administrative agenda, reshaping the judiciary, moves forward in Atlanta with the latest conservative jurist set to take a seat on the federal appeals court in Atlanta.

Former federal prosecutor Steven Grimberg was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia 75 to 18 in the U.S. Senate Wednesday. Georgia Senators Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., and David Perdue, R-Ga., both voted yes.

Columbus takes center stage for the annual Georgia Thespian Conference this weekend. Thousands of high school theater students with gather there for performances workshops and fundraising.

State Thespian Officer and Gainesville High School senior John Bush joined "On Second Thought" on the line from Columbus with reflections on the conference, which will be his last before heading off to college in the fall.

Georgia’s 9th Congressional District is one of the strongest Republican bases in the country. The Cook Political Report ranked it the most conservative district in the state in 2010, and the third most conservative nationwide.

As the population of Latino students increases, the number of Latino teachers in the workforce is still scarce. Gainesville and Hall County are struggling to find teachers who reflect the student population. We talk about this with Julio Cabanas, an Assistant Principal at Fair Street Elementary in Gainesville.
