Members of the Georgia General Assembly are being asked to self-quarantine until the end of the month after State Sen. Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta) told leadership he tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday.

State Sen. Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta) is ending his campaign to represent Georgia's 6th Congressional District. 

In an email to supporters, the transportation committee chairman said he felt he would better serve Georgians staying in the Senate.

State Sen. Brandon Beach has declared himself a candidate in the 2020 race for U.S. House of Representatives, challenging incumbent Lucy McBath just months after McBath flipped Georgia’s 6th Congressional District from Republican to Democratic control.

Casino Gambling In Georgia Dead, For Now

Legislation that would have allowed casino gambling in Georgia is dead for the year.


Sen. Brandon Beach (R - Alpharetta) said he pulled the measure because he didn’t have enough votes to get the bill out of the Senate Regulated Industries Committee.


“Big issues like this take time. And so, we're just gonna have to come back next year,” Beach told reporters Monday.
