We’ve got jazz and Star Wars in Middle Georgia this weekend!  It’s time to talk about all the fun things you can get out and do and with some ideas, we have Jackie K. Cooper, a film critic with the Huffington Post and local harpist Betsy Fitzgerald. Listen to the studio conversation below!

Macon Jazz Association Presents “Swinging at the Stetson”

If you are a jazz fan, you need to be a part of the Macon Jazz Association. This great organization is filled with jazz enthusiasts as well as professional and amateur jazz musicians. Their annual spring member event is featuring Miss Keela’s Rhythmic Jazz and the KLS Percussion Band. Dance and socialize under the stars at this fun event that is free to members and only $10 for non-members.  Memberships start at $15 for students and seniors and $25 for individuals and families. Proceeds help encourage and support creation, presentation, and preservation of jazz music in our community. Please visit www.maconjazz.org for more information.

Come check out Gentry Barber Shops classy new digs along with a live vocal tribute to Frank Sinatra. It will be a great night to enjoy some classic tunes in a really cool downtown Macon location right next to all the other Macon nightlife. Join the Perry High School Symphonic Band on Thursday, May 19 in the Perry High School Theatre for the Performing Arts as we take you on a musical journey through all 7 Star Wars films!

Doors open at 7:00pm. Come meet and take pictures with some of your favorite Star Wars Characters. You are also welcome to dress up and bring your light saber! Doors will close at 7:25 and the music will start at 7:30 sharp.

We will have a laser light show synced to all of the music provided by AK2 Productions. This will definitely be a night to remember!
