On Second Thought for Monday, March 5, 2018

All hour, we look back at some of the best conversations by Celeste Headlee, who stepped down as host of ‘On Second Thought’ last week. The list of nicknames and titles for filmmaker John Waters is long and legend. Waters is more than a filmmaker. He’s an actor, writer, fashion icon, stand-up comedian and art collector. We talked to him last year ahead of his one-man show in Atlanta called “A John Waters Christmas.”

Some comedians let nothing keep them from the stage. Ali Wong was in her third trimester when she performed for her Netflix comedy special, “Baby Cobra.” We talked with her ahead of her performance last year in Atlanta.

If some of history's greatest artists could go back in time and redo their work, would they? Screenwriter Karen Hall spent 20 years agonizing over her masterpiece novel, “Dark Debts,” first published in 1996. It’s the story of the devil tormenting a Georgia family and it was an instant success when it came out. Instead of releasing another novel, she returned to the story in 2016 with some major plot changes, including a new ending.

One of the most successful and influential groups to come out of Georgia is the group, Indigo Girls. Since the first release in 1985, the folk rock duo has had multiple platinum albums and won a Grammy. We talked with band member Amy Ray ahead of a solo performance in Atlanta.
