Drew Dawson

Station Manager/Host

Drew Dawson is the Station Manager/Host at GPB radio’s Augusta bureau. He is a veteran radio broadcaster, program manager and news professional. Prior to joining GPB, he was part of the multi-platform news operation at the iconic WGBH in Boston. 

Dawson has worked for Virtual News Center, Westwood One’s Metro Networks and several local stations across the country.

He is originally from Boston and is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communication.

Getting opioids can be very easy.  Getting rid of them can be very hard. There’s a lot at stake here.  Failure to do dispose of opioids can impacts lives, families, careers­–even the environment.

“These things shouldn’t be treated any differently than a loaded gun that’s sitting around the house,” said Dr. William Jacobs. 

He was a respected anesthesiologist with a successful practice and an idyllic family life but then he succumbed to temptation.
